Governing Body

The schools Governing Body meets once every half term; with four sub-committees, Safeguarding and Every Child Matters, Resources, Effectiveness and Ethos who present reports at each main Full Governors meeting.  The Chair of Governors also meets for discussion with the Headteacher on a regular basis.

The role of Governor has been compared with that of the ‘critical friend’ – trying to ask the right questions promoting awareness and giving support and encouragement.  Governors are made up from a variety of groups – staff, parents, Church and Local Authority.

A governor’s main aim is to ensure that we ‘Together’ with the staff and parents encourage all children to be the best they can possibly be.  We believe that anything is possible if you work hard enough for it.

The governing body try to ensure that at least two governors are available to talk to parents at school events, such as parents evening.  We value your input as parent/carers, after all we all want what is best for the children of our school.

Our governing body meetings are clerked and once the minutes are ratified at the next full governors meeting, these are available to the public.
