8:40am School opens for children, some teachers are on duty in the playgrounds waiting for the children to arrive. Arrival in the morning should not be before this time, as school cannot take responsibility for any incident which may occur before the teachers are officially on duty.
8:55am Start of school day. The teacher on duty blows a whistle and children are expected to line up with their class to be led into school.
9:05am Registration closes. Children arriving after 9.05am are entered as having an unauthorised absence with the exception of children who arrive late due to a medical appointment. If you know your child will be late, please send in a letter or ring the office in advance. If your child arrives after 9.15am, please come to the office on arrival.
10:30am Break. We are part of the 'free fruit scheme' which gives each child in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 a piece of fresh fruit or vegetable each day for break. If you wish to supply your own snack, children may only bring fresh or dried fruit or cheese or raw vegetables to eat at break time in accordance with the school's healthy eating policy.
10:45am Break finishes. The teachers collect the children from the playground.
12:00 noon Lunchtime for Nursery and Key Stage 2. Reception pupils and Key Stage 1 finish at 12.15pm. Menus for hot lunches are sent home termly. If your child wishes to have a hot lunch, please send their lunch money in on the day in a named purse.
12.15pm Afternoon Nursery begins
1:00pm End of lunchtime, straight into registration. The teachers collect the children from the playground.
1.15pm Assembly. On a Monday and Friday, this is a Whole School Assembly.
3:15pm End of school, children leave. Please wait for your child in the playground, the teachers will bring the children out and dismiss them when they see the adult who is there to collect them.
4:30pm Office closes. The answer phone will be on from this time. If you have an urgent query that cannot wait until the next day there is usually a member of school staff on site until 7p.m.
Children who need to leave school during the day should be collected from the main entrance. Please ensure that you inform the teacher or the office if you will be collecting your child during the school day.
If your child is due to be collected by somebody who does not usually collect him or her, please inform your child's teacher. We will not let your child go without your permission.
Staff are generally available at the end of the day if you wish to make an appointment to see them. However on Mondays there is a staff meeting for all teachers. Some staff are also involved in meetings at other times during the week.
